Abu Dhabi offers visa support for Indian destination weddings to boost tourism by 2030

This initiative represents a significant step towards establishing Abu Dhabi as a world-renowned destination for weddings and celebrations, leveraging its cultural heritage and modern amenities to attract international audiences.

Abu Dhabi is positioning itself as a premier wedding destination with a new initiative to extend visa support to Indian nationals hosting weddings in the Emirate. This move, announced by the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB), aims to significantly enhance the UAE capital’s appeal for large-scale celebrations.

The ADCEB, part of the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, is spearheading this initiative as a strategic component of Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030. This ambitious strategy targets an increase in visitor numbers to 39.3 million by 2030. The inclusion of destination weddings as a key segment underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to diversifying its tourism offerings and enhancing its global profile.

The ADCEB’s initiative is expected to have a substantial economic impact, driving venue and hotel room occupancy and benefiting a wide range of service industries, including wedding planning, photography, catering, and personal services

India, recognized as one of the largest markets for destination weddings, is a primary focus for this initiative. By offering visa support and absorbing related costs, Abu Dhabi aims to attract a significant number of Indian weddings, positioning itself as a leading destination for such celebrations. This effort not only highlights Abu Dhabi’s cultural and entertainment offerings but also its unique landscapes and hospitality services.

By 2030, the tourism sector’s contribution to the GDP is anticipated to reach AED 90 billion, with destination weddings playing a crucial role in this growth.
