The Embassy of India in Bahrain invites Indian restaurants to apply for the esteemed ‘Annapurna Certificate,’ an honor established by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). This certificate recognizes restaurants abroad that significantly promote authentic Indian cuisine and culinary traditions.

Indian dining establishments abroad play a pivotal role in introducing Indian cuisine to local communities and strengthening cultural ties. The ‘Annapurna Certificate’ aims to enhance cultural interaction through food and recognize global ambassadors of authentic Indian cuisine.

  • The certificates will be awarded at ceremonies organized by the Indian embassy in respective countries

  • Applications must be submitted in the prescribed form to the Indian Mission/Post by August 31, 2024

  • Following a detailed scrutiny and evaluation process, the ICCR-appointed jury will select the winners

To qualify, restaurants must have been in operation for at least five years and adhere to high standards of food hygiene and safety, complying with local regulations.
