Cricket Australia has announced its squad for the upcoming Women’s Under-19 Tri-series, featuring three promising Indian-origin players. The series, which will take place from September 19 in Brisbane, will also include teams from New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The three players—Ribya Syan, Samara Dulvin, and Hasrat Gill—are looking to make a mark in the tournament, highlighting the growing diversity within Australian cricket.

The Youth Selection Panel has chosen a 15-player squad for each format—T20 and 50-over matches—for the Tri-series, set to be held in Brisbane and Gold Coast. Former Australian cricketer Kristen Beams has been appointed as the head coach for the team. Over the course of 14 days, each team will compete in four T20s and two One-Day matches.

In a statement released on Thursday, Cricket Australia emphasized the inclusion of Ribya Syan, Samara Dulvin, and Hasrat Gill as a reflection of the increasing contribution of players with Indian heritage to Australian cricket. This selection underscores the expanding diversity and talent pool within the sport.

Ribya Syan, a fast-bowling all-rounder from Victoria, has made a name for herself with her versatility on the field. Samara Dulvin, a talented batter, has previously represented Australia’s Women’s U-19 team in matches against England. Meanwhile, Hasrat Gill, a skilled bowler, has also gained experience playing for the U-19 squad against teams like England and Sri Lanka.

The Australian U19 Women’s squads for the Tri-series are as follows:

T20 Squad: Bonnie Berry, Caoimhe Bray, Ella Briscoe, Maggie Clark, Samara Dulvin, Lucy Finn, Hasrat Gill, Lucy Hamilton, Amy Hunter, Eleanor Larosa, Ines McKeon, Ribya Syan, Tegan Williamson, Elizabeth Worthley, Hayley Zauch.
