In a shocking incident, a 76-year-old Non-Resident Indian (NRI) from Punjab was kidnapped while en route to a local gurdwara in Jalandhar district. Mohinder Singh, a UK-based NRI, was forcibly abducted by two unidentified assailants in a car near Kang Sahibu village along the Nakodar-Jalandhar road.

According to eyewitness Daljit Singh, also a resident of the same village, the kidnappers rammed their vehicle into Mohinder’s car as he was driving to the gurdwara.

CCTV footage from the surrounding areas is being reviewed to track the movement of the kidnappers’ vehicle

When Mohinder exited his car to confront the suspects, they overpowered him and forcibly took him away. Daljit immediately contacted the local police to report the abduction.

Police have launched an investigation, starting with identifying the registration number of Mohinder’s car: PB-08AQ-3878. SHO Baljinder Singh from Nakodar Sadar police station confirmed that all local police stations have been alerted, and efforts are underway to trace the victim.

Authorities continue their efforts to trace the location of the suspects and safely recover the elderly NRI.
