Oman has intensified its efforts to enforce Omanization laws, arresting 611 individuals for occupying positions exclusively reserved for Omani nationals. The Ministry of Labour led an extensive inspection campaign in Dhofar Governorate, spanning from June 21 to September 21, 2024, coinciding with the region’s popular Dhofar Khareef season.
During the inspections, the Ministry uncovered a total of 1,594 labor violations, focusing on roles specifically designated for Omani citizens as part of the country’s Omanization policies. These policies aim to reduce reliance on expatriate workers and prioritize employment opportunities for the national workforce.

In addition to enforcing these regulations, the campaign has resulted in the creation of over 600 new job opportunities for Omani citizens, signaling a positive outcome from the Ministry’s efforts. The Ministry acknowledged the support of both public and private sector organizations in promoting a fair and safe work environment for all.
