World Malayali Federation Oman Council marks Kerala Formation Day with grand celebration

The World Malayali Federation Oman Council celebrated “Manaviyam 2024” on November 1, marking Kerala Formation Day, at the Al Falaj Grand Auditorium in Muscat. The event was graced by Dr. Santosh George Kulangara, India’s first aspiring space tourist and the founder of Safari TV.

Also honored was Dr. G. Varghese Yohannan, a prominent businessman with over five decades of service in Oman and an educational leader in Kerala. Dr. Prince Pallikunnel, Founder Chairman of the World Malayali Federation, presented the honor along with Global Chairman Dr. J. Ratnakumar, Global President Paulos Thepala, and other key Federation leaders.

The celebrations included performances by playback singers Najeem Arshad and Bhagyaraj, as well as a stand-up comedy act by mime artist Rajesh Adimali, making for a memorable cultural evening.

In his speech, Dr. Santosh George Kulangara highlighted the contribution of the Malayali diaspora to Kerala’s development, particularly in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. “Kerala’s progress owes much to the contributions of the Malayali diaspora,” he expressed, emphasizing the Federation’s global presence in 166 countries as a testament to Malayali reach and resilience.

The World Malayali Federation, noted as one of the largest diaspora organizations, has positively impacted not only Malayalis but also local communities worldwide, shared Dr. Pallikunnel. He praised the Federation’s commitment to volunteer service for Indian expatriates and the communities in which they reside.
