Strengthening Ties: Saudi foreign minister’s strategic visit to India

Dr. Jaishankar expressed gratitude to the Saudi government for the support extended to the 2.65 million-strong Indian community in the Kingdom

On November 13, 2024, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar hosted H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, for diplomatic talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. Prince Faisal’s two-day official visit to India marks a significant step in bolstering the Strategic Partnership between India and Saudi Arabia. The discussions covered a range of sectors, including trade, investment, energy, defense, security, culture, and consular affairs, underscoring the comprehensive and multi-faceted nature of the bilateral relationship. The leaders also exchanged perspectives on key regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The indian community has played a crucial role in fostering people-to-people connections, strengthening the cultural and social ties between the two nations

During the visit, the two ministers co-chaired the second ministerial meeting of the Political, Security, Social, and Cultural Committee (PSSC) under the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council (SPC). The committee evaluated the progress made since the 2023 visit of Crown Prince and Prime Minister HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to India, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to advancing shared strategic interests.
