The Enforcement Directorate (ED) intensified its crackdown on alleged irregularities in NRI quota admissions across West Bengal’s medical colleges and hospitals, reported devdiscourse.com.
On Tuesday, ED teams conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations, targeting officials and institutions suspected of involvement in admission anomalies.

The operation spanned Kolkata’s Salt Lake and extended to districts such as Birbhum, Durgapur, Jhargram, and Burdwan. ED officers also raided the residence of former CPI(M) leader Lakshman Seth in Haldia and investigated medical colleges affiliated with him.
Shantiniketan Medical College and Hospital in Bolpur’s Mukul area also came under scrutiny, as the ED expanded its efforts to expose potential violations. Officials stated that the coordinated raids aim to uncover the full extent of the alleged malpractices.
