Indian nationals in Syria remain safe amid the ongoing political developments in the country, where Islamist rebels have reportedly removed President Bashar al-Assad from power, government sources informed PTI.
The Indian Embassy in Damascus continues to operate and is in regular contact with all Indian citizens. Official sources confirmed that around 90 Indian nationals, including 14 working with various United Nations organizations, are currently in Syria. The embassy is fully operational and available to support the Indian community in the country.
Proactive measures are being taken to safeguard Indian citizens and maintain open channels of communication during these uncertain times
