A Diplomatic Victory for India
Sources revealed that the breakthrough came about thanks to PM Modi’s personal rapport with global leaders, which has played a crucial role in fostering stronger ties between India and its Gulf allies.
The UAE has previously pardoned 2,783 Indian prisoners since 2014, and similar pardons were granted ahead of Eid and the UAE National Day in 2024, when 944 Indian prisoners were released. Additionally, over 700 Indian prisoners were pardoned in 2023, and 639 in 2022.
The Modi government’s interventions have demonstrated India’s growing global diplomatic stature and its unwavering commitment to protecting Indian citizens abroad, solidifying its influence in the Gulf region.
