A Major Trade Gateway for Indian MSMEs in Dubai: Bharat Mart set to revolutionize India-UAE trade, offering Indian businesses a global launchpad from Jebel Ali Free Zone
Global logistics giant DP World has officially commenced construction of Bharat Mart, a first-of-its-kind B2B and B2C marketplace in Dubai that will link Indian MSMEs directly to global buyers and consumers. Strategically located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), the facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2026, promising to redefine trade flows between India, the Middle East, and international markets, reported logisticsoutlook.com.
The state-of-the-art development will cover 2.7 million square feet, with the initial phase spanning 1.3 million square feet. The mart will host 1,500 showrooms, over 700,000 square feet of advanced warehousing, light industrial units, modern office spaces, and dedicated business areas for women-led enterprises from India.
Bharat Mart will create a seamless global trade bridge, offering Indian MSMEs enhanced market access through Dubai’s world-class infrastructure.
Located just 11 km from Jebel Ali Port, 15 km from Al Maktoum International Airport, and near Etihad Rail, Bharat Mart’s strategic position offers unmatched multimodal connectivity. Indian exporters using the facility will gain direct links to 150 maritime destinations and over 300 cities worldwide through Jebel Ali’s vast logistics ecosystem, greatly boosting their global reach and efficiency.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, highlighted Bharat Mart’s importance in deepening India-UAE trade ties, stating that it will “further strengthen the UAE-India partnership by providing Indian goods faster access to global markets.”
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, praised the project, calling it “a transformative step that aligns with the vision of the India-UAE CEPA and will unlock new opportunities for Indian MSMEs, especially in reaching African markets.”
DP World’s Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, reinforced the company’s commitment to driving trade growth, adding, “India and the UAE are targeting USD 100 billion in non-oil trade by 2030, and Bharat Mart will play a pivotal role in achieving this target.”
The virtual model of the project was unveiled in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan, Minister Piyush Goyal, and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, marking the beginning of an ambitious chapter in India-UAE trade collaboration.
