Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police have registered a human trafficking case against five individuals, including a non-resident Indian (NRI) based in Kuwait, for allegedly luring unsuspecting people to the Middle East using forged documents, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

The case emerged when Khadeerun Shaik, a resident of Kadapa, was intercepted during an immigration check and found carrying an ECR (Emigration Check Required) passport that had been allegedly tampered with. She was attempting to travel to Kuwait without proper documentation.

The racket came to light when a woman was caught with a tampered passport during immigration checks at RGIA

Upon interrogation, Shaik revealed the involvement of five agents from Kadapa and Vijayawada districts, who had helped her obtain a forged Kuwait visa.

Based on a complaint by immigration authorities, police have filed a criminal case and launched an investigation into the trafficking ring.

According to authorities, the accused targeted individuals from economically weaker backgrounds, promising jobs abroad while using fraudulent means to create travel documents. Officials have warned of strict action and urged the public to verify credentials before engaging with overseas job agents.
