Indian man assaulted by teenagers in Dublin park, receives eight stitches after brutal assault
As racist attacks against Indians rise in Ireland, another shocking incident has surfaced just a day after the country’s Deputy Prime Minister condemned such violence, reported gujaratsamachar.com.
Indian man attacked in Dublin’s Fairview Park, left bleeding after brutal assault.
According to a post shared on Reddit by user Mehul3132 in the ‘IndiansInIreland’ community, the victim was attacked on August 10 around 5:30 pm by three teenagers in Fairview Park, D3. He said one teen riding an electric scooter kicked him in the stomach, and when he tried to walk away, two others joined in, circling around him.
-
The attackers began hitting him without provocation. He fell to the ground as they continued punching and kicking him
-
When he attempted to get up, one assailant — wearing a mask — struck him above the eye with his own metal water bottle, leaving him with a deep cut
-
“I started bleeding heavily, and they just ran off,” he wrote
Despite being attacked in a public place, no one initially came forward to help. Eventually, two other teenagers assisted him and called the Garda (Irish police). He was taken to Mater Hospital, but after waiting hours with blood-soaked clothes, he left without proper treatment. The next day, his college GP referred him to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he finally received eight stitches.
Victim alleges poor support from Indian Embassy
The victim further alleged that the Indian Embassy in Ireland offered little help, merely asking him to email details and provide an FIR number. He also warned fellow Indians to remain cautious, stating that it is difficult to defend oneself during such attacks.
Earlier, India Day celebrations in Ireland were postponed due to rising racist assaults. The Indian Consulate issued an advisory assuring the community that it is coordinating with Irish authorities. Organisers and community leaders expressed disappointment over the postponement but said safety must remain the priority.
