Boja Suresh, duped by a job agent, appeals for rescue from remote farm in Oman
Boja Suresh, 42, a resident of Nizamabad, Telangana, has recorded a desperate video from a remote desert farm in Oman where he has been forced to work tending sheep and livestock. Allegedly misled by a job agent who promised a cleaner’s position, Suresh ended up as an agricultural worker far from Muscat. His daughter, Tejasree, has petitioned Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy through the ‘CM Pravasi Prajavani’ in Hyderabad, urging intervention to bring her father home safely, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
Suresh faces extreme conditions in Oman, highlighting exploitation of migrant workers by unscrupulous agents
Suresh, a resident of Siddapalli-Bejjor village in Bheemgal mandal, flew to Muscat on August 20, 2025, expecting employment as a cleaner. However, his visa was issued for an agricultural role, and he was forced to work near Yanqul, approximately 250 km from the capital. In his video, he described harsh working conditions, being required to cut grass every two hours, and inadequate food. He also shared personal hardships, including the recent death of his mother and his wife’s ill health, intensifying his plea to return home.
Tejasree submitted the petition on October 17 at the ‘CM Pravasi Prajavani’ office. Mandha Bheem Reddy, vice chairman of the NRI advisory committee, assured that the matter would be taken up with India’s Ministry of External Affairs. She also alleged that a job agent in Dharpally had collected Rs 90,000 from her father under false pretenses and demanded legal action against the agent for misrepresentation and exploitation.
