Canadian residence of singer targeted in firing incident; Bishnoi gang cites ties with Sardar Khera as motive
Shots were fired outside the home of Canadian Punjabi singer Channi Natan, and the Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility, citing his alleged association with Sardar Khera, according to media reports, reported gujaratsamachar.com.
The attack underscores the gang’s extortion-driven modus operandi, targeting artists who refuse to pay, and highlights cross-border criminal activities linked to Indian gangs.
Reports indicate that the Bishnoi gang typically contacts singers demanding extortion money, attacking them if they refuse to comply
Goldy Dhillon, an aide of the gang, released a video claiming responsibility for the incident, stating that Natan was targeted due to his connection with Sardar Khera. Dhillon added that the gang has no personal animosity towards Natan, but warned that anyone maintaining ties with Khera “will be responsible for their own loss.”
Local Canadian authorities are investigating both the firing incident and the authenticity of the gang’s claims. Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Police Anti-Gangster Task Force (ANTF) recently tracked and detained Jagdeep Singh, aka Jagga, a Lawrence Bishnoi gang member now associated with the Rohit Godara gang, in the United States. Jagga had been involved in multiple extortion and firing incidents in Punjab and Rajasthan before fleeing to Dubai three years ago and later entering the US illegally.
