- Andhra Pradesh bets on green and quantum futures
At the India–Europe Business Partnership Roundtable, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled an ambitious vision to make his state a global hub for advanced technologies, green energy, and space research.
Addressing a room of European business leaders and policymakers, Naidu showcased Andhra Pradesh as a state that delivers results—fast. He cited examples such as Premier Energy, which secured all clearances within 45 days, and Reliance, which is setting up India’s second-largest brewery with approvals granted in just a month.
The Chief Minister announced plans for several major innovation clusters: a Drone City serving both civilian and defence sectors, a Space City to harness India’s growing private space ecosystem, and the Quantum Valley in Amaravati, where he hopes the country’s first quantum computer will be built within two years.
“Andhra Pradesh will emerge as a green energy hub,” Naidu said, adding that while India targets 500 GW of renewable capacity, his state alone aims to produce 160 GW through solar, wind, and pumped-storage power
The region’s natural resources and proactive governance, he said, make it a magnet for global investors.
The event, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), drew influential figures from Europe and Asia, including ministers, academics, and CEOs. CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee praised Naidu’s “visionary leadership” and his commitment to transforming Andhra into a global investment destination.
Speakers also emphasized growing India–Europe synergies in renewable energy, smart manufacturing, and sustainable technology. As both regions seek to accelerate the green transition, collaborative ventures and joint funding mechanisms are expected to play a key role.
By aligning Andhra Pradesh’s industrial policy with national priorities like Make in India and the quantum computing roadmap, Naidu aims to position the state as a hub for AI, data centers, electronics, aerospace, and semiconductors.
His closing appeal was clear: “India has a stable government and strong leadership. I invite global partners to invest in Andhra Pradesh—where innovation meets execution.”
