Representatives from 58 countries under the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence endorsed a joint roadmap for responsible AI governance and international research collaboration, building on commitments made at the Paris AI Action Summit in 2025
Dubai’s skyline turned into a striking tribute to India’s growing technology ambitions as the Burj Khalifa lit up with a giant portrait of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday night. The unannounced display, shared by the Indian Consulate in Dubai on social media, surprised many viewers.
The world’s tallest building was illuminated with Modi’s image alongside India’s tricolour flag to mark the India AI Impact Summit 2026, currently taking place in New Delhi from February 16 to 20. The Consulate described the spectacle as a symbol of India’s rising leadership in innovation and emerging technologies. Its message read: “India just took AI to new heights.”
Chaired by Modi, the five-day summit is being described as the largest artificial intelligence gathering ever held in the Global South. The words projected onto the tower declared: “The future of AI, shaped in India, for the world.” The summit’s theme, “Welfare for all… Happiness of all,” was also displayed, along with details encouraging global audiences to watch the event live.
The summit has drawn heads of state, ministers, investors and leading technology experts from across the globe. Among the prominent attendees is Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Representing UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he attended the opening session and held bilateral talks with Modi. Their discussions covered trade, technology, healthcare, insurance and investment.
February 18 also marked four years since India and the UAE signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), a deal that has significantly boosted trade and investment between the two nations.
