The postponement has brought temporary relief to thousands of Indian students in the Gulf region, who were preparing to appear for the crucial board examinations this week.
India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed all Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations scheduled for Monday, March 2, in seven Middle Eastern countries due to the current situation in the region.
The decision applies to students in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
In an official notice shared on social media on Sunday, the board confirmed that fresh dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later. CBSE also stated that it will review the situation on Tuesday, March 3, and take a decision regarding exams scheduled from March 5 onwards.

“All students are advised to stay in touch with their schools for updates and follow official announcements carefully,” the board said in its statement.
The announcement came just hours after CBSE dismissed a fake circular circulating widely on social media. The false message had claimed that certain board examinations in the Middle East had been cancelled. The board clarified that the information was incorrect and urged students and parents not to believe unverified reports.
Earlier, Dr Ram Shankar, Director of the CBSE Regional Office and Centre of Excellence in Dubai, told Gulf News that an official update would be issued soon. He also appealed to families to rely only on confirmed updates from CBSE and school authorities.
