The Indian Embassy in Doha has issued a safety advisory asking Indian citizens in Qatar to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary travel as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.

In its latest message, the embassy urged Indian nationals to carefully follow instructions issued by local authorities while the situation remains uncertain.

The advisory specifically recommended that residents stay away from windows, balconies and open areas, and only step outside if absolutely necessary.

  • To help citizens during the crisis, the embassy has also activated an additional 24-hour helpline

  • Officials said the embassy is closely coordinating with Qatari authorities and community organisations to ensure the safety of Indian residents

The warning comes amid rising tensions in the region that have disrupted both daily life and air travel. Several airlines have suspended flights, and operations at Hamad International Airport in Doha have been affected by temporary airspace closures.

Indian nationals in Qatar have been advised to stay in contact with their airlines for updates about rescheduled flights. Authorities have also urged residents to rely only on official information sources and avoid spreading unverified news.

The Middle East has seen rapidly developing hostilities following a series of military strikes involving regional and international powers. Some missile attacks have reportedly targeted sites in Qatar, although most were intercepted and no casualties were reported.

Qatar hosts one of the largest Indian expatriate communities in the Gulf, with hundreds of thousands of Indian citizens living and working there.
