Rising geopolitical tensions across West Asia have placed millions of Indian expatriates on alert, prompting diplomatic missions to step up coordination with local authorities to safeguard the community.
The United Arab Emirates has reassured Indian nationals that their safety remains a priority. UAE Ambassador to India Abdulnasser Alshaali said the nearly four million Indians living in the country continue to remain safe, highlighting the close cooperation between Abu Dhabi and New Delhi in protecting expatriates.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan soon after tensions escalated, underscoring India’s concern for the well-being of its citizens abroad
Across the Gulf, Indian embassies in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman have issued advisories urging citizens to remain cautious, stay updated with official announcements and avoid spreading unverified information online.
Emergency helplines and crisis response teams have been activated to assist Indians facing travel disruptions or safety concerns.
The Gulf region hosts one of the world’s largest Indian expatriate populations, with millions working in construction, healthcare, retail, finance and information technology.
Officials say the situation is being closely monitored, particularly as regional tensions have already begun affecting aviation routes and economic activity.
