The incident has raised fresh concerns over examination administration and candidate allotment procedures.
The student, identified as 18-year-old Abdullah Mohammad Talib, received his admit card shortly before the re-examination and found that he had been assigned to a test centre in the United Arab Emirates, nearly 2,500 kilometres away from his home. His family said he does not possess a passport and had never opted for an overseas examination centre.
