Overseas education consultancy YES Germany has appointed Karuna Syal as its Chief Executive Officer for Operations and Support, marking a key leadership change as the organisation seeks to strengthen its operational capabilities and student support services.

The company said Syal, who has been associated with YES Germany for more than a decade, has played a central role in building its admissions, counselling and student support functions. She has previously led the organisation’s operations and admissions teams while working closely with students aspiring to pursue higher education in Germany.

In her new role, Syal will oversee operations, student services, admissions, internal processes and support functions across the organisation’s expanding network. The appointment comes at a time when Germany continues to attract a growing number of Indian students because of its globally recognised universities, research opportunities and relatively affordable higher education.

  • According to the company, Syal’s responsibilities will include improving operational efficiency, enhancing the student experience and supporting the organisation’s long-term growth strategy

  • She is also expected to strengthen collaboration across departments while ensuring consistent service delivery for students throughout their academic journey

YES Germany, founded by Dr Gagan Syal, provides guidance on university admissions, German language training, visa assistance and settlement support for Indian students planning to study in Germany. The organisation has expanded its presence across several Indian cities and overseas while focusing exclusively on Germany as a study destination.

The appointment reflects the company’s emphasis on reinforcing its leadership team amid increasing interest among Indian students in pursuing higher education in Germany. Industry observers expect demand for specialised counselling and end-to-end support services to remain strong as academic and mobility links between India and Germany continue to deepen.
