Programme highlights Hindi’s role in connecting India’s cultural diversity and engaging younger generations with the language
The Embassy of India in Muscat celebrated Hindi Diwas 2026 on 14 September with a special programme featuring competitions designed to promote interest in Hindi and encourage creativity among participants.
Organised in association with the Embassy’s Hindi Wing, the event brought together participants for a series of activities that showcased their knowledge of the language and creative skills. The competitions included completing idioms and proverbs, humorous poetry, a quiz and essay writing.
Participants took part enthusiastically, demonstrating their understanding of Hindi, communication abilities and literary talent. The programme provided an opportunity for them to engage with the language through a range of educational and creative activities.

The ambassador also stressed the value of initiatives that encourage interest in Hindi and help younger generations connect with India’s linguistic and cultural heritage.
Certificates and prizes were presented to participants who performed well in the various competitions during the programme. The embassy also acknowledged the contributions of the judging panel, organisers and participants whose efforts helped make the celebrations a success.
The Hindi Diwas programme reflects the Embassy of India’s continued efforts to promote Hindi and strengthen the linguistic and cultural ties between India and Oman.
Through Hindi-related programmes and activities, the embassy seeks to encourage greater engagement with the language while supporting cultural exchange and awareness of India’s rich heritage among communities in Oman.
