Lighthouse Canton Launches ‘Global Indian’ Platform to Simplify Cross-Border Wealth Management for NRIs

New wealth management platform aims to integrate global assets, Indian investments and tax planning for overseas Indians through a single advisory framework

Singapore-headquartered investment firm Lighthouse Canton has launched Global Indian, a dedicated cross-border wealth management platform designed to help non-resident Indians (NRIs) and overseas investors manage assets spread across multiple countries through a single advisory structure. The initiative seeks to address the growing complexity faced by globally mobile Indian families in managing their financial affairs.

The launch comes at a time when the Indian diaspora, estimated at around 35 million people, continues to play a significant role in the country’s economy. According to Reserve Bank of India data cited by the company, remittances to India reached a record USD 135 billion during FY2024-25, while NRI deposits exceeded USD 164 billion as of March 2025.

Lighthouse Canton said many overseas Indian families maintain banking relationships, investment portfolios and custody arrangements across different jurisdictions, often requiring multiple advisers. The new platform aims to consolidate these services by offering unified portfolio reporting, cross-border wealth structuring and integrated tax and regulatory support.

  • The platform will provide NRIs and international investors access to Indian investment opportunities through the firm’s regulated entities in India and GIFT City

  • At the same time, resident Indian investors will be able to diversify globally through the Liberalised Remittance Scheme and GIFT City frameworks

  • Alongside the launch, Lighthouse Canton has introduced a Systematic Global Equities Fund domiciled in GIFT City to facilitate regulated overseas equity investments

Global Indian will operate across Lighthouse Canton’s offices in India, Singapore, Dubai and the United Kingdom, supported by the company’s proprietary wealth technology platform, Keenai. The business is led by Sumegh Bhatia, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for India and Global Indian, with a leadership team overseeing investment management, regional operations and wealth advisory services.

The company said the platform reflects increasing demand for integrated wealth management solutions as more Indian professionals, entrepreneurs and business families build assets across international markets.
