Appointment aims to strengthen Bahrain’s engagement with Indian travellers, travel companies and corporate groups
The Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has appointed Intrepid Marketing & Communications as its official India sales and representative agency, in a move aimed at expanding the kingdom’s presence in the Indian travel market.
Under the new mandate, Intrepid Marketing will handle BTEA’s trade representation, market outreach and strategic partnerships across India, with the objective of increasing visitor arrivals to Bahrain. The partnership will focus on leisure travel, meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), destination weddings and group travel.
India is regarded as an important source market for Bahrain, supported by growing outbound travel, improving air connectivity and demand for short-haul international holidays. Intrepid will engage with travel companies, corporate organisations, wedding planners, event organisers and other industry stakeholders to promote Bahrain and develop new business opportunities.

Dana Osama AlSaad, Deputy CEO for Projects and Resources at BTEA, said India remained one of Bahrain’s high-potential markets

She said Intrepid’s knowledge of the Indian travel sector and industry relationships would help strengthen Bahrain’s appeal among leisure travellers, corporate groups and event organisers
For Intrepid, the appointment marks a renewed association with Bahrain Tourism. Director Sunil Mathapati said the company had worked with BTEA for more than six years and would seek to deepen engagement with the Indian travel trade, particularly in leisure, MICE and destination weddings.
The appointment follows Bahrain’s efforts to develop a dedicated market-based tourism representation structure in India. A BTEA tender issued in 2025 sought an agency to strengthen travel-trade relations and increase international visitor traffic from the Indian market.
