A 46-year-old woman has approached Ahmedabad police, alleging that her third marriage broke down after she discovered her husband’s chats with several women and faced alleged harassment over money and jewellery
A 46-year-old US citizen living in Ahmedabad has lodged a police complaint against her husband, alleging cheating, domestic abuse and dowry harassment, according to a report by Gujarat Samachar.
The woman, who lives in Makarba, had previously been married twice, with both marriages ending in divorce. She met the Ahmedabad-based man through Shaadi.com in 2023 and married him in August 2024.

She alleged that she later found objectionable messages involving more than a dozen women from Ahmedabad, Goa and the United States
When she questioned him, the woman alleged that he abused and assaulted her. She also claimed that the couple travelled to Goa and Bali, and that during the Goa trip her husband lost money while gambling at a hotel and behaved aggressively towards her.
The complainant further alleged that another woman known to her husband later claimed to be his wife. During an argument over the matter, she said, her husband allegedly pulled her hand, causing an injury to her wrist.
The woman also alleged that her father sold a shop in 2025 and that her husband, along with his son and daughter from an earlier marriage, became aware of the money. She claimed they subsequently pressured her to give the funds to her husband as dowry.
She further alleged that jewellery she had brought as streedhan was placed in a bank locker by the family and was not returned.
Following what she described as continued harassment and threats, the woman approached Ahmedabad’s West Women Police Station and filed a complaint against her husband, his son and daughter. The allegations are subject to police investigation.
