Embassy-hosted 5-km run on Gandhi Jayanti promotes fitness, community solidarity and the vision of a developed India by 2047
More than 1,000 members of the Indian community in Oman took part in a 5-km Viksit Bharat Solidarity Run organised by the Embassy of India in Muscat on Friday to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The event was held as part of Fit India Freedom Run 7.0 and coincided with the concluding day of Seva Pakhwada, observed from September 17 to October 2. It sought to promote fitness, community participation and solidarity among Indians living overseas while highlighting the vision of a Viksit Bharat, or developed India, by 2047.

The run brought together participants across age groups, including children, young people, adults and senior citizens. The event began with Zumba and warm-up exercises before participants set off on the 5-km route.
Carrying the Fit India Freedom Run 7.0 message, “Fitness ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz”, the initiative encouraged participants to make regular physical activity part of their daily lives.
