More than 70 members of the Indian community donate blood as part of Gandhi Jayanti and Seva Pakhwada activities
The Embassy of India in Muscat, in collaboration with the Indian Social Club Oman, organised a blood donation camp at the embassy premises on October 3 as part of community service activities marking the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The initiative received a strong response from the Indian community in Oman, with more than 100 people registering for the drive. Over 70 participants successfully donated blood, contributing to the country’s blood bank reserves.
Members of the Indian community from different backgrounds took part in the humanitarian initiative, reflecting their willingness to support healthcare and social welfare efforts in Oman.

Indian community organisations, in coordination with the Embassy, regularly conduct blood donation drives, medical camps, plantation activities and other welfare programmes in Oman. Such initiatives have become an important part of community engagement and contribute to strengthening the longstanding people-to-people ties between India and Oman.

He noted that the donated blood would help support blood banks and patients requiring transfusion services in Oman
Pise also expressed appreciation to officials from Oman’s Ministry of Health, as well as doctors, nurses and other medical personnel, for their cooperation and support in organising the camp.

The blood donation drive was held during Seva Pakhwada, a period of community service activities associated with Gandhi Jayanti. The initiative highlighted the Indian community’s participation in humanitarian causes and its contribution to the wider social fabric of Oman.
