Citizens of 150 countries that have visa-free entry to the Philippines will be allowed from February 10, according to a Reuters report.

In an effort to boost the tourism sector that has been completely destroyed by the pandemic, Philippines with its more than 7,000 islands will allow fully vaccinated tourist. It has planned to reopen in December but the Omicron variant put an end to the move.

The government would end quarantine requirements for returning Filipinos from February 1, and for foreign tourists from February 10, but they had to be vaccinated and test negative for Covid-19

“(This) will contribute significantly to job restoration, primarily in tourism dependent communities, and in the reopening of businesses that have earlier shut down,” Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said in a statement. He mentioned that the government would end quarantine requirements for returning Filipinos from February 1, and for foreign tourists from February 10, but they had to be vaccinated and test negative for Covid-19.
