Sound & light show at Andaman’s Cellular Jail restarts

The authorities said that museum, the Sound & Light show at Cellular Jail, and NSCB Island were open for tourists

The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has announced the reopening of tourism activities in the South Andaman district. In a notification, the authorities said that museum, the Sound & Light show at Cellular Jail, and NSCB Island were open for tourists.

The time slot allotted for a visit to the museum was from 9 am to 12:30 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm. The Sound and Light Show would open for visitors with 50 per cent capacity with the first show from 5:20 pm to 6:15 pm and the second show from 6:30 pm to 7:25 pm. The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island would be open for day visits from 9 am to 4 pm and the light and sound show at the island will be operational from 6 pm to 8 pm with a 50 per cent visitor capacity.

With the rise of Omicron cases, the Andaman & Nicobar Administration had announced the closure of all tourist spots in the second week of January. Night curfew was also imposed in the all three districts with no movement allowed between 9 pm and 5 am until and unless permitted by the District Magistrate on a case-to-case basis

“Any other orders or advisories issued by the government of India, Andaman and Nicobar Administration or any other competent authority with regards to Covid-19 protocol will also have to be followed as applicable,” the notification read.
