Previn Warren, son of Indian immigrants, recently joined the AAPI Victory Alliance. The group works to build Asian American and Pacific Islander political power in the US. Among the three new Board members who were named recently, was Indian American attorney Previn Warren, reported americanbazaaronline.com. Warren lives with his wife and two sons in the Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC.
With Warren are Sung Yeon Choimorrow, Executive Director of the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum and Jennifer Chau, Executive Director of the Arizona Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander for Equity Coalition.
A member of Motley Rice’s office in Washington, DC, Warren’s “practice is focused on leveling the playing field between individuals and corporations,” AAPI said in a press release. “He has won multiple significant victories on behalf of recording artists. As a result of those cases, rights holders have received hundreds of millions more in royalties from satellite and internet radio services.”
Warren was named one of Billboard’s Top Music Lawyers (2022), a DC Rising Star by The National Law Journal (2019), and a Rising Star by the South Asian Bar Association of North America (2019).
Warren’s work in politics includes serving as counsel to the presidential campaign of Pete Buttigieg, and serving as a criminal justice policy advisor for former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration

Before his work at Motley Rice LLC, Warren worked as a partner at a large corporate firm in Washington, DC He completed a judicial clerkship with Merrick Garland, US Court of Appeals, DC Circuit from 2012 to 2013. He also worked as an enforcement attorney and senior advisor to the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from 2011 to 2012.
Born in California to parents who emigrated from India, Warren graduated from Harvard Law School in June 2011 and from Harvard College in 2004. His honours thesis on the philosophy of Jurgen Habermas and Charles Peirce received the prestigious Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize. While an undergraduate, Warren co-founded a student advocacy group championing progressive causes and co-edited a book about youth civic engagement after 9/11.
For five years, he also played bass guitar in a Brooklyn-based rock trio, The States.
