BMW Group India on a high: 64%+ growth in car sales

The BMW brand saw sales of 5,191 units during theperiod, a growth of 65.4% while the Mini stood at 379 units, an increase of 50% over the corresponding period last year

For the BMW Group India, this year has been especially good. It reported a 64.2 per cent growth in its car sales at 5,570 units in the January-June period of 2022. The BMW brand saw sales of 5,191 units during theperiod, a growth of 65.4% while the Mini stood at 379 units, an increase of 50% over the corresponding period last year. Even the group’s luxury motorcycle BMW Motorrad saw sales of 3,114 units, a growth of 56.7% in the first half of 2022.

Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said: “A majority of products are sold out and we are trying our best to match the hugedemand. The order books are full and the pipeline for the coming months is quite solid.”

He also pointed out that the BMW Group was taking “rapid and consistent strides in India”. Despite the challenges caused by various factors in the domestic and international market, he said, the BMW Group India had achieved the best-ever half-yearly sales performance for BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad.

He also pointed out that the sales figures underpinned the enormously strong demand for BMW Group products in the luxury car and premium motorcycle segment in India. BMW was taking all measures to ensure that vehicles were being produced and delivered as planned.
