A new scheme will see 3,000 Indians being granted UK visas every year. Britons will also receive visas as part of the mutual agreement, which officials said would be a “once in a lifetime opportunity to engage in professional and cultural exchange”.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said, “The Indo-Pacific region is increasingly important to our security and prosperity. It is teeming with dynamic and fast-growing economies, and the next decade will be defined by what happens in this region.”

The move comes even as UK continues to push for a trade deal with India. It was scheduled to be concluded in time for Diwali celebrations this year.
Sunak played down the chance of a quick breakthrough in the talks, stressing that getting the right deal was more important than speed.
