In the heart of Muscat, a community dedicated to the art of yoga has been flourishing for the past two years. The Muscat Yoga Family, a vibrant group of individuals, has become a beacon of celebration, meditation, and connection, spreading the joy of yoga and promoting Indian culture within the local community and Indian diaspora.

Started with the noble purpose of raising awareness about the benefits of yoga in daily life and enhancing overall wellness, the Muscat Yoga Family has been actively practising yoga at the Indian Embassy hall under the guidance of a qualified and experienced teacher.

The group recently marked a significant milestone with its second-anniversary celebration on December 29, 2023, in Barka. The event drew a lively gathering of 70 people, including families and children, who came together to revel in the spirit of unity and well-being. The celebration was a testament to the strong sense of community fostered by the Muscat Yoga Family.

The organizing team, led by dedicated members Pratima Behera, Neelam Gill, Sanjay Kanojia, Swapnil Singh, and Jaya Srivastava, worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the celebration. Their efforts were recognized and appreciated, with each member contributing in various capacities to make the event a memorable one.

The participants extended a special acknowledgment to the Embassy of India in Muscat and HE Indian Ambassador Shri Amit Narang for their support.

The anniversary festivities featured a diverse range of activities, including mesmerizing yoga demonstrations, lively Hula Hoop sessions set to music, the playful Tom & Jerry race, engaging balloon games, enchanting couple dances, and spirited Antakshari competitions. The event was a testament to the diverse interests and talents within the Muscat Yoga Family.

Expressing gratitude for the success of the event, the Muscat Yoga Family extended heartfelt thanks to every team member and participant for their hard work and dedication. Their collective efforts have not only made the anniversary celebration a resounding success but also set the stage for many more memorable events in the future.

“The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Delhi also played a pivotal role in facilitating the Muscat Yoga Family’s journey by providing them with the expertise of Acharya Manoranjan, a highly qualified and experienced yoga teacher,” said Sanjay Kanojia, who admits to have benefitted a lot with the yoga sessions under the guidance of Acharya Manoranjan.

Acharya Manoranjan’s ability to forge close bonds with the Muscat Yoga Family has been instrumental in creating a supportive and encouraging environment for all members. The Muscat Yoga Family expresses its deepest gratitude to the Embassy of India in Muscat for this invaluable contribution to their journey.
