Dubai extends expiry dates of residence visas

Big relief, as currently thousands of residents are stranded abroad and they have no means to extend the visas

The Dubai residence visa holders, who are stuck in their home countries due to various Covid-19 reasons, got a major relief from the Dubai authorities. The General Directorate of Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai, has extended the expiry date of residence visas till November 10, 202.

According to an announcement on Dubai-based carrier flydubai’s website, the residence visas date extension is applicable on Indian, Pakistani, Nepali, Sri Lankan, Nigerian and Ugandan nationals who are stuck abroad for various reasons.

“This applies to Dubai-issued UAE resident visas which have expired or will expire between April 20, 2021 and November 9, 2021 inclusive,” it said.

Currently, thousands of residents are stranded abroad and they have no means to extend the visas.
