FIFA selects Qatari woman as member of Dispute Resolution Committee

The duration of Dana bint Mohammed Al Nuaimi’s term of office for the post, will be for a period of four years, starting from October of this year

Dana bint Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Legal Affairs of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), has been selected as a member of the Dispute Resolution Committee of the FIFA Football Court. 

The duration of her term of office for the post will be for a period of four years, starting from October of this year.

Al Nuaimi’s appointment to this prestigious position is a matter of rare privilege and honour. 

Besides colleagues and peers, officials from   the government as well as sports officials from numerous government and private bodies have warmly extended their congratulations for her distinguished achievement. 

The general sentiment and mood among people is upbeat. They feel that this is an extraordinary achievement for the people of Qatar, especially as it highlights another milestone by Qatari women in the national and international arena of sports, particularly football.

The FIFA Dispute Resolution Committee is the independent adjudicating body that provides arbitration and adjudication of disputes on the basis of equal representation between players and clubs.

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and the SC welcoming Al  Nuaimi’s appointment hoped it would have a positive impact on sports in the country and inspire other young professionals qualify as officials or office-bearers of various international sporting organisations.

The task of establishing and developing an integrated sports system requires the presence of Qatari cadres with the highest professional qualifications, ultimately reflecting in the highest level of performance when Qatar hosts the FIFA World Cup, 2022.
