Frankfurt tourism gets a boost from Indian visitors

Frankfurt witnessed a significant growth of 121 per cent in tourist arrivals during the period of January-November 2022, with India contributing 65,000 arrivals.

Strong interest in travelling proved beneficial for the city of Frankfurt, especially evident in FIT and MICE arrivals. During the period from January-November 2022, the city recorded a substantial growth in overnight stays, bringing the number to 7.82 million. The average length of stay during this period was 1.82 days in over 278 hotels and lodging facilities, with a total of 60,120 available beds.

Frankfurt expects this growth trend to continue in 2023. The city has a well-planned schedule with multiple events, festivities, and fairs of great local and global appeal, and is expecting a boom in domestic and international arrivals, says Thomas Feda, Managing Director, Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main.

Particularly noteworthy are the festivities to mark the 175th anniversary of the first German National Assembly in Frankfurt’s Paulskirche, which will be celebrated with an extensive programme in May 2023.

In India, Frankfurt Tourism has a mini roadshow planned in Mumbai and Pune to meet the travel trade industry and corporate accounts in late April. This will be led by Leona Flach, Marketing Manager, Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main and the Indiva Marketing team.

A final 2022 report on Frankfurt’s total guest and overnight stay figures for the year 2022 will be available in March 2023.
