Indian travellers have access to a range of visa-free and visa-on-arrival destinations, offering more options for international holidays and short stays
Indian passport holders have access to 25 visa-free destinations, 40 countries offering visas on arrival and five destinations with electronic travel authorisation (eTA) options, according to the September 2026 Passport Reports ranking cited by Gulf News.
The Indian passport ranks 132nd globally, with a Mobility Score of 70. The score measures access to destinations through visa-free entry, visas on arrival and simplified electronic travel arrangements. A total of 128 destinations require Indian travellers to obtain a visa before departure.

Permitted stays vary significantly, ranging from 14 days to 180 days, depending on the country
Dominica offers the longest stay listed, at up to 180 days. Fiji and Vanuatu allow stays of up to 120 days, while Barbados, Grenada, Mauritius and the Maldives are among destinations offering 90 days. Malaysia permits 90 days with a Digital Arrival Card, while Thailand allows 60 days with an arrival card.
Other visa-free options include Bhutan, Nepal, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal and Trinidad and Tobago. The Philippines and Bhutan have shorter permitted stays of 14 days, while Macao and Micronesia allow 30 days.
For travellers who require a visa on arrival, the 40-country list includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Jordan, Laos, Madagascar, Mongolia, Morocco, Russia, Tanzania, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Stay limits range from 15 days in Togo to 120 days in Armenia, with several destinations allowing 30 to 90 days.
Five destinations offer eTA or similar electronic pre-registration options: Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Seychelles and Sri Lanka. Permitted stays range from 30 to 90 days.
Travellers should check entry requirements with the relevant embassy or immigration authority before booking flights. Visa policies, permitted stays and documentation requirements can change, and some destinations require arrival cards or advance registration.
