New initiative introduces Artificial Intelligence, Computational Thinking and Robotics into the academic framework, promoting creativity, critical thinking and practical learning
Indian School Bousher has taken a significant step towards strengthening technology-driven education with the inauguration of its Innovation Hub, an initiative designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
The Innovation Hub was inaugurated by Mahfoudah Al Araimi, Director General of the Ministry of Labour on Thursday (October 15). Present on the occasion were Syed Salman Ahmad, Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman; Raj Kumar Ahmad, President of the School Management Committee (SMC); Himmat Singh Dhillon, Principal of Indian School Bousher, staff members and schoolteachers.

The Innovation Hub adds distinction to the school, highlighting the growing importance of innovation and future-oriented learning in school education.
Bringing Emerging Technologies into the Classroom
The Innovation Hub forms part of the school’s academic development agenda, which includes the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computational Thinking and Robotics into the curriculum.
These learning areas are intended to broaden students’ understanding of technology while encouraging them to apply their knowledge through exploration, experimentation and problem-solving.
The initiative reflects the changing demands of education, where learners need more than theoretical knowledge to navigate a world shaped by rapid technological advancement. By creating opportunities to engage with emerging technologies, the school aims to make learning more interactive, relevant and connected to real-world applications.

Learning Through Exploration and Innovation
“Ideas developed through the Innovation Hub are envisioned as a space where curiosity leads to discovery and practical engagement,” said Raj Kumar Ahmad, President of the School Management Committee (SMC).

“Computational Thinking can help students approach challenges logically, identify patterns and develop systematic solutions. Robotics offers opportunities to explore design, engineering principles and programming, while exposure to Artificial Intelligence can introduce learners to the growing influence of intelligent technologies in everyday life,” he said.
- These experiences can nurture essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, adaptability and independent problem-solving
- They also encourage students to experiment, learn from mistakes and approach challenges with confidence
Commenting on the vision behind the new initiative the SMC President said, “By integrating these disciplines into the academic framework, Indian School Bousher aims to create a learning environment in which students become active participants in their educational journey.”
In Step with NEP and NCF
The initiative aligns with the broader educational vision of India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), which emphasise competency-based education, experiential learning, critical thinking and the meaningful use of technology.
This approach seeks to complement academic learning with practical skills, helping students connect classroom concepts with real-life situations. It also supports the development of lifelong learners who can adapt to new challenges, make informed decisions and contribute meaningfully to society.
Preparing Students for Tomorrow
The inauguration of the Innovation Hub marks an important milestone in Indian School Bousher’s commitment to educational excellence.
More than a dedicated space for technology, it represents an opportunity for students to explore their interests, discover their potential and develop the confidence to turn ideas into meaningful outcomes.
Through this initiative, the school reaffirms its focus on nurturing a vibrant community of learners who are curious, creative and prepared for the opportunities of the future. By bringing innovation and practical engagement into the learning experience, Indian School Bousher continues to strengthen its vision of an education that prepares students not only for academic success but also for the world beyond the classroom.
