Katrina marks 39th birthday with Funky rap song in the Maldives

Katrina Kaif turned 39 on Saturday, July 16 and celebrated it in style by rapping with two of her co-stars for a film being shot in the Maldives.

Katrina aka Katie Kay, who is in Maldives currently, got a surprise from the team of ‘Phone Bhoot’, including Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi. They created a fun reel to wish their leading lady.

The quirky BTS video has Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi rapping. Katrina looks a true blue rapper in an all-black ensemble with junk jewellery and her latest fringe haircut is undoubtedly the wow factor.

From rapping on the sets to ‘vibing’ in the car with Siddhant and Ishaan, the video has her fans go ‘vibe hai’.

In the caption, Excel Entertainment wrote, “There’s hype cos you’re a vibe. Happy Birthday#KatrinaKaif”

Ishaan Khatter wished her with this cute message, “Happy birthday Kattie Kay. We kinda sorta made you a rapper, now it’s time to launch your Kay beauty products exclusively for ghosts-Bhootni Kay.”

Siddhant Chaturvedi wrote, “Vibe Hai Vibe Hai! Harrrrrrrd! Give it up for the birthday girl! Katie-Kay!@katrinakaif”

This is the first time in her career that Katrina will be seen rapping.

‘Phone Bhoot’ is a supernatural comedy directed by Gurmmeet Singh of ‘Mirzapur’ fame and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment. The movie, to be released on November 4, also stars Jackie Shroff, Sheeba Chaddha, Nidhi Bisht and Surender Thakur.

The video starts with Kat channelling her emo personality with the fringe haircut, an all-black outfit, chunky silver chains, and blue highlights in her hair. Her new avatar left many fans impressed, as this is the first time we’re seeing Kaif rapping and with an emo style. ‘Phone Bhoot’ is a supernatural comedy directed by Gurmmeet Singh of ‘Mirzapur’ fame and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment. The 37-second clip also shows their fun banter along with her co-stars teaching Katrina how to rap. Well, from the looks of it, they seem to be having fun and fans can’t wait to see the kind of spookiness this trio spills.

Katrina appeared in a bold, funky avatar. She looked like a punk guitarist, having a subtle resemblance to the character Dimple from her 2011 film, ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. In the video clip, she seemed to be trying hard to rap and ‘vibe’ to the ‘Vibe Hai’ song, by legendary rapper Divine, but constantly failing to ace the lyrics.

However, by the end of the 37-second video, ‘Katie Kay’ aka Katrina, was finally able to master the ‘Vibe Hai’ song. With an unbeatable enthusiasm and energy, the trio – Katrina, Ishaan, and Sidddhant rapped the lyrics like a pro, seemingly having a mini-concert in a car. The video concluded, with Excel entertainment, wishing Katrina a ‘Happy Birthday’ in vibrant yellow letters.
