Riyas Panayakandiyil entrusts friend to spin the wheel and clinch top prize
Luck smiled on Riyas Panayakandiyil, an Indian expatriate residing in Qatar, as he won the Dh150,000 top prize in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi’s ‘Big Win’ contest, Series 279 draw, reported gulfnews.com.
Riyas’s friend spins wheel on his behalf due to travel constraints.
Hailing from Kerala, Riyas purchased his ticket online — ticket number 178286 — and struck gold. Unable to travel to Abu Dhabi, he asked his friend Ashik Mottam to spin the wheel for him.
“It’s difficult for me to travel due to personal reasons, but I had full faith in my friend to win Dh150,000,” Riyas said in a pre-recorded message after his name was announced
Ashik, spinning on behalf of a group of 20 participants, watched intently as the wheel slowed and landed on Dh150,000, the maximum prize amount. Overjoyed, he exclaimed, “Thanks a lot!” to the hosts, Richard and Bouchra.
Prize to be shared among 20 group members
Ashik confirmed that the Dh150,000 prize would be shared among all 20 group members, celebrating the win collectively.
