Man arrested with fake Indian and Nepalese currency

SSB apprehends suspect near India-Nepal border with counterfeit notes and valuables

The 48th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) arrested a man in Madhubani district near the India-Nepal border on Sunday during a special patrol, seizing fake Indian and Nepalese currency, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

 

The arrested man was found with counterfeit currency worth Rs 13,800 in Indian notes and Rs 6,500 in Nepalese notes

 

The accused, identified as Mohd Tahir, a resident of Jainagar in Madhubani district, was caught with 138 fake Rs 100 notes in Indian currency and counterfeit Nepalese currency amounting to Rs 6,500.

Along with the fake currency, the SSB also seized a motorcycle, a cellphone, two silver rings, and a wristwatch from Tahir.

According to Vivek Ojha, Acting Commandant of the SSB, the arrested individual and the seized items have been handed over to the Basopatti police station for further investigation.
