The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the list of candidates provisionally eligible for conversion from the Indian category to the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) category for Round 2 of NEET UG Counselling 2026-27.

According to the list, 135 candidates have been included after the MCC, under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), scrutinised documents submitted to support their NRI claims. The list includes candidates’ serial numbers, NEET UG roll numbers and names.

MCC has clarified that the conversion is provisional and applies specifically to the 2026-27 undergraduate counselling process. Inclusion in the list does not constitute final confirmation of NRI status for admission.

  • Candidates who are allotted an NRI seat will be required to produce the original documents submitted during the verification process at the time of reporting

  • MCC has stated that failure to produce the required originals could result in cancellation of admission

The announcement comes as Round 2 of the NEET UG counselling process progresses. MCC began Round 2 registration on 3 September, with registration and fee payment closing on 8 September. Choice filling was available until 9 September, while choice locking began on 8 September.

The Round 2 seat-allotment process is scheduled for 9 and 10 September, with the allotment result due on 11 September 2026. Candidates allotted seats will be required to report to their respective institutions between 12 and 18 September, while institutes are scheduled to verify and share joined-candidate data with MCC on 19 September.

The official MCC website has also listed the NRI eligibility document among its latest Round 2 UG counselling notices.
