The Embassy of India in Kuwait hosted a vibrant celebration of Tamil Nadu Day, bringing together members of the Indian diaspora to honour the rich cultural heritage, language and traditions of the southern Indian state.

A traditional lamp-lighting ceremony marked the formal inauguration, led by Sanjay K. Muluka, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of India, alongside representatives of community organisations and distinguished guests.

Addressing the gathering, embassy officials highlighted the contributions of the Tamil community to Kuwait’s economic and social development while underlining the importance of preserving India’s linguistic and cultural diversity abroad. Speakers also praised the role of community organisations in fostering unity among overseas Indians and strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Kuwait.

  • The celebrations featured a series of cultural performances, including traditional Tamil music and dance, showcasing the state’s artistic heritage

  • Participants of all age groups took part in the programme, reflecting the strong engagement of the Tamil diaspora in promoting their cultural identity overseas
