Yusuffali donates 5,00,000DH for church construction in Abu Dhabi

The church is likely to be ready by the end of December 2021. With a total built area of 15,000Sq feet, the church can accommodate 750 people at a time

Prominent NRI businessman and philanthropist M A Yusuffali donated 5,00,000 dirhams (Rs 1,01,31,155) for the construction of the Church of South India (CSI) in Abu Dhabi.

The proposed church will be built on 4.37 acres of land. The land was donated by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The church is likely to be ready by the end of December 2021. With a total built area of 15,000Sq feet, the church can accommodate 750 people at a time.

“There are places of worship for all religions in UAE as the leaders here are ensuring a cordial environment for the co-existence of different religions. They are following the legacy of tolerance set by the Father of the nation Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,” he said.

The location of the proposed church, the construction of which is already in progress, is near BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi.

Yusuffali was recently in the news for saving Becks Krishnan’s life by paying blood money, which is financial compensation paid to the victim or heirs of a victim in the cases of death, bodily harm or property damage.

He had paid Indian Rs 1 crore to save him from death row for killing a young Sudanese boy in a road accident in 2012.
