India win second T20I, seal series against Ireland with easy win

Dublin: India beat Ireland by 33 runs to win the second T20 International and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, a PTI report in The Tribune, Chandigarh, says.

Batting first, India scored185/5, with fantasticc contributions of on vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 58 off 43 balls, Sanju Samson’s 40 off 26 deliveries and Rinku Singh’s 38 off 21 balls. 

In reply, Ireland were restricted to 152/8 with Prasidh Krishna taking 2/29 while Ravi Bishnoi scalped 2/37. Skipper Jasprit Bumrah had figures of 2/15. For Ireland, Andrew Balbirnie scored 72 off 51 balls.

Tasked to chase 186, Paul Stirling & Lorcan Tucker departed early after scoring ducks. Ravi Bishnoi then came on to dispatch Harry Tector and then Curtis Campher. But Andrew Balbirnie continued his fine form by slamming a fiery 72-run knock to keep the hosts alive in the contest. 

Earlier, Rinku Singh smacked a  21-ball 38 to help India finish with 185/5 in 20 overs. Before Rinku, Ruturaj Gaikwad dictated the pace with 43-ball 58 while Sanju Samson punished Joshua Little to score a 26-ball 40.
