In a life-changing moment, Sharjah-based Indian expatriate Aravind Appukuttan struck gold by winning the grand prize of Dh25 million in the Big Ticket Abu Dhabi draw, series 269, reported gulfnews.com.
The milestone event, held at the end of 2024, marked a significant closure to a year of transformative wins for expatriates across the UAE.
Sharing the Joy
Appukuttan, a salesman, plans to share the prize with 20 friends who jointly purchased the winning ticket, number 447363, on November 22. “I am shopping here in Sharjah. I will be sharing the ticket with 20 others,” he told show hosts Richard and Bouchra during the live announcement.

From December 1 to December 25, participants purchasing two tickets for Dh1,000 in a single transaction will automatically qualify for the weekly draws. Over four weeks, one finalist per week will progress to the “Big Win” contest during the January 3 live event

Despite purchasing tickets for the past two years, Appukuttan was stunned by his unexpected win. “I never expected to win. I don’t know what I will do,” he shared. The news, relayed by a friend, left both his wife and friends astonished. “She is surprised. I can’t believe it,” he said, expressing the overwhelming emotions of the moment.
