Saudi Tourism Authority highlights cultural heritage, MICE opportunities, and enhanced travel experiences to attract Indian visitors
Saudi Arabia is actively pursuing its goal to become a leading global tourism destination, and at SATTE 2025 in New Delhi, the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) showcased the kingdom’s diverse tourism offerings.
With a delegation of 14 stakeholders, including Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), Destination Management Companies (DMCs), and airline partners, Saudi Arabia aimed to capture the attention of Indian travellers by presenting its rich cultural heritage, iconic landmarks, and world-class experiences, reported businesstraveller.com.
Strengthening Ties with India’s Travel Industry
As part of its strategy to build stronger relationships with India’s travel industry, the Saudi delegation hosted networking events in Bengaluru and Mumbai, engaging over 200 industry professionals.
These events provided an in-depth look into Saudi Arabia’s growing tourism initiatives and highlighted the development opportunities in the region.
New Initiatives to Position Saudi Arabia as a Premier Destination
In addition to promoting general tourism, Saudi Arabia launched key initiatives targeting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events), destination weddings, and Group Inclusive Tours (GIT).
These efforts are aimed at positioning Saudi Arabia as a prime venue for large-scale events and exclusive occasions, further broadening the country’s appeal to both leisure and business travellers
A recent familiarisation trip also allowed Indian travel professionals to experience Saudi Arabia’s rich culture, hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes firsthand.
Enhancing Travel Connectivity for Indian Tourists
With improved flight connectivity and simplified visa procedures, Saudi Arabia is well-equipped to welcome more Indian travellers. The kingdom is positioning itself as a top destination for both leisure and business tourism, with expectations to see a significant increase in visitors in the coming years.
