Two drones targeted the commercial port in Sultanate of Oman’s Duqm on Saturday, leaving one expatriate worker injured, according to a security source.

One of the drones struck a mobile accommodation unit used by workers at the port, causing injuries to a foreign employee. The injured worker received medical attention, though no further details were immediately released about his condition.

The second drone did not cause direct damage. Debris from it fell near the fuel storage tanks at the port, but authorities confirmed there were no human casualties or material losses from that incident.

The port, located in the coastal city of Duqm, is one of the key commercial and industrial hubs in Oman. Security officials said investigations are under way to determine the source and circumstances of the attack.

In an official statement, Oman strongly condemned the targeting of the port. The government stressed that it is taking all necessary steps to protect the country’s infrastructure and ensure the safety of residents and workers.

Authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stability and security across the Sultanate. Increased monitoring and precautionary measures are expected at strategic sites as part of ongoing efforts to prevent similar incidents.

The situation remains under close watch, and further updates are likely as investigations continue.

According to officials, all 20 crew members on board were safely evacuated after the incident. The crew included 15 Indian nationals and five Iranian nationals.

Initial information shows that four crew members suffered injuries of varying severity. They were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Authorities confirmed that there were no deaths.

The Maritime Security Center said it is working closely with relevant agencies to assess the situation and monitor any further developments. An investigation is under way to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
