More than 35 Indian companies to showcase new mango varieties and food products during 10-day event in Doha
The third edition of the Indian Mango Exhibition, widely known as the Hamba Exhibition, is set to open at Souq Waqif’s Eastern Square on 18 June, bringing together a record number of exhibitors and an expanded selection of Indian mango varieties.
The event, organised jointly by the Private Engineering Office and the Embassy of India in Qatar, will run for 10 days and feature participation from more than 35 Indian companies. Organisers say this marks the largest turnout since the exhibition was launched, surpassing last year’s participation of 30 companies.
Over the years, the exhibition has grown into one of the region’s most popular seasonal events, attracting strong public interest and contributing to Qatar’s cultural and tourism calendar. According to organisers, the previous edition welcomed more than 114,400 visitors and recorded sales exceeding 130,000 kilograms of Indian mangoes. Visitors were also able to explore a range of related products, including pickles, desserts and traditional Indian cuisine.
This year’s exhibition is expected to offer around 54 varieties of Indian mangoes, with several new varieties being introduced to the Qatari market for the first time. Organisers believe the wider product range and increased number of exhibitors will help attract even larger crowds
Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the Hamba Exhibition, said the event’s return for a third consecutive year reflects its growing success and popularity among residents and visitors. He noted that the exhibition was initially planned as a one-off event, but strong public demand encouraged organisers to establish it as an annual fixture.
Officials expect both visitor numbers and sales to exceed previous records, supported by greater participation from Indian companies and the introduction of new mango varieties.
The exhibition will be open daily from 4pm to 10pm throughout its run at Souq Waqif.
